Hot Wheels Unleashed feels larger than life with its playful execution of scale and attention to detail across every aspect of the visual presentation. A diverse photo mode offers some great filters and customisable options to snap the perfect shot that is well worth checking out. The glaring sun and immaculate lighting in general breathe such credibility to the visuals that it can be difficult to remember that it is toy cars running laps in these circuits. Weaving tracks atop a sea of bookcases and a spiralling raceway that ascends a skyscraper and taking racers outside into the skyline look amazing. Racing through a garage, a skyscraper and a library are just a few of the environments that are brought to life in a manner far grander than they appear on paper. Represented in their actual scale, the cars look amazing, with a level of detail that feels amplified by the life-sized environments that each of the tracks take place in.

Previously you need to exit the campaign (which requires a button hold) back to the main menu. Previously, you can only browse by looking through a list sorted by the most recent livery, with no options to filter and change the sort.Īdditionally, you can also access the store and collection straight from the “Hot Wheels City Rumble” campaign. So there’s still more work needed to improve the searchability of liveries, but it’s getting there with this update. While you can search for a car-specific livery from the collection menu, the new search filters are not available from there. You can filter by tags but not by car type. You can scour for new liveries created by the community over on the editor tab, under Community Liveries. You can also “like” a livery, pushing it up for more players to see it. Now you can search liveries based on tags and sort them. The most important new addition is an improvement to the game’s custom livery system.
